Free ESL Lesson Props

Props. The topic can be a bit polarizing. Some teachers seem to love having a collection while others strive for minimalism. When I began teaching online I was incredibly nervous. Props helped me deal with those feelings during class time. Holding a prop or dry erase board meant that I wasn’t the center of the screen. A prop was something for the students to look at other than me.

My feelings have changed…a little. I don’t get nervous anymore, but I still like using them. I have learned what works and doesn’t work for me. When I create lessons I try to think about what I might need or what another teacher might need. My goal is to keep the props down to 1-2 pages of printing per lesson. I also try to make them small for easy storage, but not so small that they are easy to lose.

I have posted FREE ice cream props and apple props on the TpT store to go with the speaking lessons. Of course, these props can be used with any lesson or in any type of classroom.
