It all began while riding on a sinking ship.

I was working for one of the many online ESL companies in China when the “Double Reduction” policy began. Like many of you, I was going to stay with my ESL company until the end. During the last few months with VIPKid, I felt like every day the rug was going to be pulled out from under me.

Panic. Disappointment. Uncertainty. I felt all of those things. I joined so many Facebook groups of panicking teachers. I joined WeChat to connect with parents. I applied to new ESL companies.

Slowly, I began to see what I wanted. I wanted to continue teaching but on my own this time. There would be no more tech support, planned lessons, or easy scheduling. It would mean doing it completely on my own.

My first goal continues to be finding books and materials. Unlike many other teachers, I do not want animated slides with tons of moving graphics. I do not want to worry about lagging or load times. I want simple but stimulating. I want some click-throughs, circling, and a lot of talking.

I want my own resource library of things I LOVE.

I decided to start making my own. It is time-consuming, but I enjoy it. That’s why I decided to start selling what I create. I know not everyone has the time or interest in making them. I enjoy it, can make back my clipart money and we can make our libraries together. ❤️

I want people to feel like they are getting lessons that make financial sense for their business, help their students learn, and keep parents asking for more.

I also know what I make isn’t for everyone and I can’t meet all of your needs. With that in mind, I want you to remember to ask questions, watch preview videos, AND look for freebies.

I am looking forward to what is next for all of us. I think it’s going to be good.
